Springs woman arrested for arson after setting fire to mobile home porch
A 54-year-old woman was arrested on Friday morning for arson after she set the porch of her mobile home on fire, according to Colorado Springs police.
Sherie Hayes is being held at the Criminal Justice Center for 1 st Degree Arson, a class 3 Felony.
CSPD reports state that Hayes first turned on the kitchen stove inside her mobile home at 1025 Garner Street, causing items to be burned. Then, she went outside and lit her front porch on fire.
Crews responded at around 8:20 a.m. and was quickly able to extinguish the flames.
No one was injured.
Police did not release details on why she started the fire.
