UC Health shows off benefits of Mobile Stroke Unit
A new high-tech vehicle from University of Colorado Health is making it easier for acute stroke victims to get fast treatment.
This ambulance look alike is called the Mobile Stroke Unit. It is equipped with a mobile cat scanner, blood testing machine and a very well trained crew.
“I think it’s very important, as I mentioned earlier, that the sooner we treat patients with stroke the more likely they are going to have a good outcome,” said Dr. William Jones, medical director of Mobile Stroke Unit.
Colorado Springs is now the eighth site in the world, and second in the state, to have one these life saving machines.
