Trevor Story put on DL
The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have placed shortstop Trevor Story on the 15-day disabled list with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb and recalled infielder Rafael Ynoa from Triple-A Albuquerque. Story is likely done for the season.
Story, 23, is batting .272 (101-for-372) with 67 runs, 21 doubles, four triples, 27 home runs, 72 RBI, 35 walks and eight stolen bases in 97 games with the Rockies his 27 home runs currently lead the National League and his 72 RBI are fifth in the NL his 27 home runs are the most in NL history for a rookie shortstop and the second-most home runs by a Rockies rookie in franchise history, leads all MLB rookies in home runs, RBI, extra-base hits (52) and slugging percentage (.567) his 21 home runs in the first half tied the NL rookie record twice named NL Player of the Week.
