National Night Out hopes to reduce crime

Neighborhood watch programs across Southern Colorado will participate in National Night Out.

The 33rd annual tradition aims to prevent crime and promote safety in the community. Today, law enforcement will host block parties across the region and country. Specific events are listed below:

Colorado Springs Police Dept: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Various Locations
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office: 6 p.m., Various Locations
Pueblo Police Dept: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Pueblo Riverwalk
Teller County: 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Ute Pass Cultural Center
Fremont County Sheriff’s Office: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Rouse Park in Caon City

Block party hosts ask people to bring lawn chairs and enjoy cookouts and games.
