‘Great Inflatable Race’ makes first stop in Colorado Springs

A fun run complete with an inflatable obstacle course made a Saturday stop in Colorado Springs.

A Utah-based firm brought the “Great Inflatable Race” to town for the first time, setting up in Memorial Park.

“We’ve been in more than 20 other cities,” said Philip Wright, operator of the event. “We were finally able to do it here. People may remember us from our Color in Motion 5K race.”

Wright said 10 different inflatable obstacle courses set up along a non-competitive jogging course motivates people to exercise in a different and enjoyable way.

Brendan Doyle, 11, was one of many kids who enjoyed the race, although he hurt himself slightly by over-exerting himself on one inflatable.

“I like how it’s bouncy and not too difficult,” he said. “It’s easier than some other races.”

Wright said the race will return next year.

Admission costs $25 in advance and $50 on the day of the race.
