Dump truck causes section of Academy Blvd to shut down for over 6 hours
A portion of Academy Boulevard was shut down for over six hours on Saturday after a dump truck hit a power line pole.
Repaving crews were working in the area of Maizeland and Academy when the dump truck hit the pole, causing other power lines to fall into the street. The fallen lines covered both southbound and northbound lanes of Academy Boulevard.
Crews officially shut down the roadway at 8:47 a.m.
No one was injured.
Colorado Springs Utilities replaced a broken pole and four downed lines.
All lanes were back open at 2:20 p.m.
