CSP investigating fatal head-on collision off Colorado 9

Colorado State Patrol is investigating a head-on collision off Colorado 9 that left one man dead on Friday.

Officers responded to the crash located at MP 67 in Park County at around 6:30 p.m.

CSP reported that a Chevrolet 1500 was traveling southbound on Colorado 9 in the northbound lane and crashed head-on into a 2011 GMC Acadia.

Kelly Boston, 47, of Ennis, Texas was driving the GMC and was pronounced dead at the scene. His front-seat passenger was flown to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Denver with serious injuries. Both were wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Chevy and his front seat passenger were wearing a seatbelt and were not injured. His backseat passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and was also flown to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Denver with serious injuries.

CSP does not believe alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
