Bridge on W. Rockrimmon Blvd. closed until Aug. 11

4- hundred. a timesaver traffic alert to remind you of, this weekend. a big project already getting noticed by drivers – and it’s only beginning in northwest colorado springs. last night at six, a block-long bridge on west rockrimmon boulevard… closed for the project. workers immediately began tearing it down during the overnight hours. today, workers began installing a new, wider culvert to improve drainage in a creek under the bridge. they’ll build a new bridge during the next two weeks. neighbors say it was loud. “we could definitely hear it. it semed to go on pretty much all through the night. it seemed to be its loudest up to about midnight, maybe a little bit after, and kind of tapered off then.” workers expect to reopen the bridge enough for some traffic, by august 11th.
