Sanders urges supporters to vote for Clinton
Even though many of his supporters would have preferred he not, Bernie Sanders did his best to encourage his supporters to get behind Hillary Clinton on Monday evening.
Days after the email scandal involving top Democrats that re-energized Sanders supporters, he addressed the delegates and the nation from the floor of the Democratic National Convention in Cleveland.
Sanders said he realizes that many people are disappointed to see his campaign end, and no one understands that better than himself.
However, he said the race he ran was not about any particular candidate, but about a revolution to break down barriers involving race, religion, class, and gender.
He added that those changes could be realized under the leadership of Hillary Clinton.
However, two Sanders delegates from Colorado told KRDO Newschannel 13 after the speech that despite Bernie’s best effort, they still aren’t ready to support Hillary Clinton.
Michelle Obama also spoke Monday night.
Tuesday night, former president Bill Clinton is the headliner on stage.
