TriView customers in Monument back to normal summer restrictions

The TriView Metropolitan District announced on Monday that normal summer watering restrictions are back in place for Monument.

Officials finally discovered the leak that has bled out more than 50 million gallons of water since June 3.

Just hours after Sunday’s community meeting, contractors hired by TriView found the leak in the beaver pond behind Bear Creek Elementary.

The water levels are now on their way back to normal, but now customers will have to help pay the bill for the water brought in from surrounding districts, the contractors and fixing the leak.

“I kind of thought at the beginning that if they can’t find where the leak is, somebody’s going to end up paying for this, and I doubt it’s going to be them,” said Rick Sputh.

“I’m glad they found the leak, but again we don’t know if it’s all of the leaks,” said Ron Schultz.
