Storms bring flooding rains, swirling winds to Pueblo County

A flash flood warning was issued for the Pueblo metro area Monday evening as heavy thunderstorms moved through the city.

The flash flood warning was scheduled to expire at 8 p.m.

The warning included Pueblo, Salt Creek, Pinon, Blende, Pueblo West and Pueblo Reservoir.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 viewers shared several photos and videos showing flooded gutters, intersections and ravines.

Pueblo’s south side was hit especially hard.

In addition to heavy rain, the storms packed lightning, gusty winds and ominous clouds.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 viewer Joseph A. Watts Sr. shared video from 40th Lane in Avondale of what appeared to be a strong dust devil or possibly a landspout.
