Four Fort Carson soldiers facing charges after armed home invasion

Four Fort Carson soldiers are suspected of breaking into a home in Colorado Springs. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, making the situation an armed home invasion. All four soldiers are under arrest and facing charges.

Colorado Springs police say it all happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday (July 24) in the 1100 block of Verde Drive on the southeast side of the city.

Officers were called to the home after getting reports of a disturbance. When they got on scene, the homeowners were inside and told officers that four men, one with a hand gun, went into the home. The suspects did not take anything from the house and didn’t hurt anyone while inside.

A few hours later, the Fort Carson soldiers turned themselves in at the Sand Creek police station.

The suspects have been identified as Dustin Mincy, 20, Mykal Hall, 19, Aaron Perry, 21, and Roman Alred, 20. All four face charges of first degree burglary, felony menacing, and child abuse.

Fort Carson released the following statement Monday morning:

“Four Fort Carson Soldiers were arrested off post Sunday for aggravated robbery. Fort Carson is cooperating with Colorado Springs Police Department in their investigation.”
