Colorado Democratic chairman reacts to DNC drama
The head of the Colorado Democrats weighed in on the drama surrounding the resignation of DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Pueblo native Rick Palacio is in Philadelphia for this week’s Democratic National Convention.
DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced Sunday she will step down after the convention. This comes after leaked emails showed the Democratic National Committee may have favored Hillary Clinton’s campaign over Bernie Sanders during the primary season.
Palacio told KRDO Newschannel 13 that he does not believe the latest email scandal will have a huge impact. But Palacio said the role of Democratic Superdelegates needs to be reviewed.
“I think it’s an important conversation that we should have. Super delegates have been consistent for 30 years, and during that time, a lot of things have changed,” Palacio said.
Sen. Sanders is expected to speak Monday night at the DNC. KRDO Newschannel 13’s Bart Bedsole will be in Philadelphia all week with live reports.
