Attempted robbery of bank’s armored truck in Aurora ends in injured suspect

A 38-year-old man was arrested on Monday after he tried to hold up a Wells Fargo Bank armored truck in Aurora.

The attempted robbery happened around 7:45 a.m. at 999 South Sable Boulevard.

The guard and suspect shot at each other. The suspect was hit, and then he ran from the scene. Police followed his trail of blood and found him hiding in a nearby apartment complex.

The suspect was taken to a hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

His name is not being released due to an ongoing investigation.
