UPDATE: Falcon standoff ends in arrest.

UPDATE: Deputies say a standoff with an armed man in Falcon ended with one man being taken down by SWAT team members Saturday afternoon.

That suspect, 26-year-old Joshua Schenk, is now in custody, facing two counts of vehicular trespass, and one bond violation.

Deputies were called to the 12,000 block of Pinto Pony Road today after Schenk locked himself inside a vacant trailer there.

He went there to escape neighbors in the Falcon Meadows area, who had confronted him about his suspicious behavior.

Earlier in the afternoon, neighbors had observed Schenk looking into cars and sorting through random mailboxes.

After being accosted by witnesses, Schenk reportedly got into his car and sped from the scene, cutting through a field and crashing through a neighbor’s fence.

After a standoff that lasted about 90 minutes, SWAT officers with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office used a flash-bang grenade to stun Schenk and take him into custody.
