What you need to know about the 2016 Pueblo Co. Fair
The Pueblo County Fair kicked off on Saturday, continuing old traditions while introducing some new ones to the mix.
Organizers have announced some changes to the fair that may or may not get regular attendees excited.
Some things you need to be aware of this year include:
Alcohol will be available for purchase at four events: Demo Derby, RedHead Express Concert, Showcase Sale and the Eric Hanson Memorial Roping.
Attendees can not bring your own alcohol to the County Fair, and alcohol will only be served at these four functions by State Fair vendors.
The 4-H/FFA Alumni BBQ will take place onTuesdayat 5 p.m. in the Livestock Pavilion
Buy tickets to the Showcase Sale BBQ early. The deadline isWednesdayat 5 p.m.
Prairie Gate will be open 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Beulah Gate will be open 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 23-31, except for the Demo Derby and the Family Dance when the gates will be open until 11 p.m.
Livestock Gate 4 will be open 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. onSunday, and then open again from 5 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. onMonday.TuesdaythroughSundayit will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The Sheep, Swine and Goat Barn will be open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Events Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to view Exhibits, except onTuesdaywhen it will be open until 9 p.m.,Fridaywhen it will be open until 10 p.m., and Saturday it will be open until the end of the Sale.
Take time cool down. Remember, the Events Center is air conditioned.
The fair will be happening through July 31.
