Hugo water test comes back negative, advisory cancelled
Officials report that there is now no danger from the drinking water in the town of Hugo.
Scientists with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said that recent water samples have come back negative for THC.
Investigators suspect that the original tests came back with a false positive.
A criminal investigation into the damage done by a break in at a local water well will continue, police said.
That was the originally reason for the investigation.
Experts from Colorado Springs to California were offering their opinions on how THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, got into the town of Hugo’s water supply.
The Lincoln County health officer issued a release on Friday night saying that marijuana is harmless unless it’s been heated first.
