Arrests made in attempted assault on Pueblo deputy
Pueblo County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people after the driver of an SUV attempted to hit a deputy. Authorities are now searching for a third suspect.
The incident happened Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of Neilson Road in Eastern Pueblo County. A woman reported a suspicious vehicle with two men and a woman parked in the driveway of her home.
When deputies arrived, they tried to talk to the people in the vehicle. The driver sped off, almost hitting the deputy, who was not injured.
The driver went through a barbed wire fence and down a river bottom. The two men ran away, but the woman was arrested. Abriana Montiel, 20, told deputies she was the owner of the SUV, but authorities later learned it was stolen.
Pueblo police and sheriff’s deputies then found Jace Todd, 27, hiding in a barn. They are still searching for a third suspect, Gabriel Flores, 19, who is also wanted on a warrant for probation violation.
If you have information on Flores, contact Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office at (719) 583-6250 or Crime Stoppers at (719) 542-STOP.
