CSPD has a message for Pokemon Go users

As the Pokemon Go app increases in popularity, police are seeing more crimes associated with the app being committed.

Concerns for safety is rising around the U.S., especially in Colorado Springs, as the game’s cutting edge technology makes players wander around looking for virtual monsters.

Around the country, there have been crimes committed and people injured when playing the game, and while Colorado Springs police say they aren’t having any issues with players in the area, they do want to remind game users to have fun but stay safe.

“The message we want to send out is pay attention, be familiar with your surrounds,” said Lt. Howard Black, spokesperson with CSPD.

The makers of the game say they are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to keep kids safe.
