Colorado Springs police investigate deadly shooting

The victim of a shooting off S. Nevada Avenue on Sunday afternoon has died.

Officers received the call around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Brookside Street and Nevada Avenue near the Taco Bell.

The male victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A suspect has been detained and there is no danger to the public, police said.

Northbound South Nevada Avenue is closed for the investigation, police said.
