Car plunges off Pikes Peak Highway

Rescue crews were called to the top of Pikes Peak Saturday afternoon, after a car plunged off a section of the highway known as “the bottomless pit”.

A witness tells NewsChannel 13 that the car went through a stone barrier, then caught fire after falling down a steep cliff.

Ambulances were on scene, and a helicopter was called in to transport one person.

No other information about the victim(s) was made available.
