Cold Springs Fire 100% contained
Three additional homes have burned in the Cold Springs Fire near Nederland in Boulder County, bringing to eight the total number of homes destroyed by the fire.
The fire has burned 528 acres and is 100% contained.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged two men on Sunday afternoon for allegedly starting the fire.
Jimmy Andrew Suggs, 28, and Zackary Ryan Kuyendall, 26, each face a charge of 4 th Degree Arson. They were taken into custody near Nederland High School around 4:40 p.m.
Fire investigators and sheriff’s detectives were able to find the origin of the fire at a campsite near the Peak-to-Peak Highway and Cold Springs Road. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the men started a fire on Thursday night and didn’t fully put it out.
Both men were booked into the Boulder County Jail. They facea felony arson chargebecause lives were endangered as a result of the fire.
