Small towns showing support for fighters of Hayden Pass Fire

The small towns surrounding the Hayden Pass Fire are showing signs of support for fire crews both figuratively and literally.

A sign that says “Thank You” is placed right off Highway 50, so fire crews see it on their way to battle the fire that is taking up over 13,000 acres.

KRDO NewsChannel 13 spoke with a young lady who says it was the least she could do.

“Really, thank you isn’t enough. No words to describe how we feel that they do this willingly,” said Lauren Buss.

The 18-year-old made the sign with her mom. She hasn’t been evacuated just yet, but if the winds change, they might have to start packing.
