Bear somehow locks itself inside of a Subaru in Jefferson County
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies respond to animal-related calls often, but the one they were called to on Tuesday had them amazed.
Somehow a medium-sized bear was able to crawl into a Subaru that didn’t have lift-up handles and lock itself in. When deputies arrived, they noticed the fog on the windows, which meant the bear had been in the vehicle for a while.
The biggest challenge the deputies faced was that, due to the destruction caused by the bear inside of the vehicle, none of the doors were easy to open. Eventually, officials were safely able to manually open the back hatch of the Subaru and release the bear.
Once released, it darted for the woods. The Sheriff’s Office stated the following in a Facebook post:
“Good work, deputies, and we hope this young bear stays far away from cars in the future!”
