Investigators: Recent search for Redwine evidence was a success

Investigators announced on Monday that during the most recent search for additional evidence in the Redwine case they found “items of interest.”

The items recovered are being sent off for testing. Following the examination, detectives will decide where to go next in the case. Officials did not release the specifics on what they found.

A total of 69 people searched between July 7 and July 11 for clues in the northeast part of La Plata County. A total of 1,099 hours of search time was logged. New areas as well as previously searched areas were covered to look for fresh evidence.

La Plata Search & Rescue
La Plata Mounted Patrol
Mounted Rangers

Dylan Redwine, who lived with his mother in Monument, disappeared in November 2012 while visiting his father in Vallecito over the Thanksgiving break. His remains were found on a mountain near his father’s home in June 2013.
