Hail pounds El Paso County Thursday night

Thursday we tracked a wave that slid south across southern Colorado. This helped to bring in slightly cooler temperatures along with a lot of low level moisture.

Behind this wave, winds shifted around from the east which helped to push more moisture up along the front range near Colorado Springs.

This helped to fire off storms late Thursday evening that lasted well into early Friday morning.

The storms dropped VERY heavy rain prompting several Flash Flood Warnings. They also produced up to golf ball size hail in many areas.

We received reports of damage to car windshields and roofs and there will likely be more damage reports streaming in once folks are able to assess the impacts in daylight.

Another round of large hail producing storms will be possible Friday afternoon!
