Illegal marijuana grow found near Rye

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office says more than 1,000 marijuana plants were found at a grow near Rye.

The estimated street value of the confiscated plants is more than $4.2 million.

“I do try to make it as difficult as possible for cartels or anyone else to illegally grow marijuana in the county of Pueblo,” said Sheriff Kirk Taylor. “In this case, we had help from our federal stakeholders and we brought resources together to make the point clear,” Taylor said.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI and the Colorado National Guard were involved in Thursday’s bust.
