Trump’s Colorado political director, active Democrats respond to FBI investigation findings on Clinton emails

The FBI recommendation to the Department of Justice not to charge Democratic presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton provides the latest backdrop in Decision2016.

FBI Director James Comey called Clinton’s decision to use a private email server while Secretary of State “extremely careless.”

Donald Trump’s Colorado political director Patrick Davis argues the Clinton’s have played fast and loose with the rules for close to 30 years in the public sphere. He is disappointed the FBI did not recommend Clinton be indicted, but Davis is not surprised.

“The American people know this as plain on the nose on your face,” Davis said. “She should not have been using a government server for private email communications. Anyone of us, if we’d done the same thing, we would not have been treated as lightly as Hillary Clinton. She gets off. You have to wonder why?”

Michael Perez, a Clinton national delegate who will be in Philadelphia for the convention, believes this was the biggest question mark looming over her campaign and now he hopes the American public can focus on the issues

“We noticed it with Benghazi,” Perez said. “There is no substance to these attacks the Republican party has been doing their best to defame Hillary Clinton and stick her name through the mud.”

“This email scandal, I never believed was a significant issue,” Democrat Ryan Macoubrie said. “I always believe it was a political distraction meant to tear her down, find a little flaw and blow it out of proportion. Trustworthiness is an important issue but this email scandal is nothing, it’s nothing”

On Twitter, Donald Trump called the decision very unfair: “FBI says crooked Hillary compromised national security. No charges. #RiggedSystem.

The findings come on the same day Clinton campaigned with President Obama for the first time in battleground North Carolina.

In a statement Tuesday, Steve House, the chairman of the Colorado GOP said: “”FBI Director James Comey’s press conference was first and foremost a scathing indictment of Hillary Clinton’s trustworthiness and clear evidence she is unfit to be President of the United States. Irrespective of the apparent lack of legal consequences for setting up a secret unsecured server to illegally hide email correspondence from the American people, Coloradans of both parties will reject Clinton’s habitual record of dishonesty and reckless judgment.”
