Man killed in ATV crash in western Colorado was drunk

Investigators say a 30-year-old man was drunk when he was killed in an ATV crash in western Colorado.

The Glenwood Springs Post Independent reports Jeremy Ventrello’s blood-alcohol content was 0.225 percent, almost three times the legal limit for driving, when he crashed north of New Castle.

Investigators say the Fruita man had been camping over the weekend and was going home when he lost control on a switchback and was thrown from the ATV, which came to rest on top of him. His body was found Monday morning.

Ventrello was not wearing a helmet or a seatbelt.
