COS police confiscate thousands of fireworks during first week of July

Local law enforcement stayed busy during the first week of July.

El Paso County deputies issued at ticket for a stand selling illegal fireworks while Colorado Springs police collected more than 2,000 fireworks.

Officers collected that amount within four days. They also responded to around 572 fireworks-related calls during that time.
