Parents outraged by Hooters-sponsored Cub Scouts camp in Denver
Denver parents are upset after finding out their children were attending a Colorado Cub Scout camp ground that was sponsored by Hooters.
KMGH-TV reports that Michelle Kettleborough picked up her 7-year-old son from the Frontier District Day Camp and found him surrounded by Hooters employees.
Hooters Colorado had posted photos of boys holding their crafts projects and posing with Hooters employees, but has since removed the images.
The Boy Scouts of America Denver Area Council said Hooters approached them about working with the scouts. Pictures on the Denver Area Council page show the boys having with crafts and make no mention of the girls.
Parents say it isn’t the Hooters employees’ attire that irritates them – the women were wearing shorts and fitted t-shirts – but Hooters doesn’t fit the philosophy of the Scouts.
