Festival shows off artistic side of COS

The gloomy weather didn’t stop people from taking part in the 4 th of July festivities in Colorado Springs on Saturday.

Hundreds of people showed up to the Pikes Peak Art and Music Festival at America the Beautiful Park for some live music and to take a look at the different pieces of work.

One of the organizers told KRDO that this was just one of the ways to show the creative side of Colorado Springs.

“I think this makes the city a little aware of the arts community. It brings people from all over the city downtown so they get to see this part of the city,” said Sarah Groh-Correa, organizer of the Pikes Peak Art and Music Festival.

The event is going on until Monday.

Tickets for the event are $5. Kids 16 and under are free.
