Suspect in 2014 child sex assault case accused of trying to stop witness from testifying

A man who is awaiting trial after being accused of sexual assault on a child is facing new charges, according to Pueblo Police.

The alleged sexual assault happened in 2014.

Police say Jared Perez, 42, is facing new charges of tampering with a witness, bribery of a witness and conspiracy.

The Pueblo County Detention Center is now taking steps to prevent any further tampering attempts, according to police.
