More people are choosing Pueblo West to build homes or businesses
More people and businesses are starting to call Pueblo West home, according to the Metro District.
District Manager Darrin Tangeman said 44 businesses and homes are being built in the district through May; there were only 51 all of last year.
Tangeman said some of the reasons why Pueblo West is growing are the low sales tax and schools.
“I think it’s good for the community as a whole to show that we have some opportunity here for families to have jobs here (along with) retail and recreational opportunities to stay in Pueblo West,” he said.
The new businesses include Big R and a Brunswick bowling alley.
