Frontier adds flights to Orlando from COS Airport

Frontier Airlines is adding a new service from Colorado Springs to Orlando, Florida. The service starts Oct. 30.

The airline is adding special introductory fares as low at $79 one-way on the new Orlando route. The offer is for June 29 only at FlyFrontier.com.

“I’m so excited, my granddaughter is moving to Orlando in October so that was very good news for me,” said Janette Dixon, passenger.

Wednesday, the airline had it’s first non-stop service from Colorado Springs to Phoenix take off.

“I’m going to see a friend, spend a little time together,” said Dixon.

In April, Frontier added non-stop service to Las Vegas. That flight performed so well, Frontier decided to add Phoenix.

“Phoenix is a huge destination for people in Colorado, but were a big destination for them in Phoenix. For example it’s really hot there and they like to come here because we have considerably better weather in the summer,” said Barry Biffle, CEO of Frontier Airlines.

This new flight is part of the airports plan to boost numbers and attract more customers.

“The more direct flights that the community has the better it is for economic development. There’s business interconnection that you get business people coming here, our business people going other places,” said Mayor John Suthers.

Frontier plans to add more flights in the future to meet the demand in southern Colorado.

“If you live in Colorado Springs I think it’s important to be able to fly non-stop. We have a great airport, hassle free from and it’s more convenient and saves you time,” said Biffle.

Frontier now has flights to Las Vegas, Phoenix and Orlando out of COS.
