Church leaders learn how to prepare for violent threats

Church leaders in Pueblo are learning how to prepare for the threat of violence.

The library in downtown Pueblo was packed with people wanting to learn how to protect the houses of worship.

The U.S. attorney’s office said church leaders across the country are on high alert after last year’s mass shooting at a Charleston, South Carolina, church.

Attorney John Walsh said you can’t predict when an attack will happen.

“One: Be prepared and have thought about it. Have a plan in place in case something happens. Two: Know your local law enforcement officers and be in a position to have had that communication with them so they even know the layout of your building,” he said.
