Springs police investigate attempted robbery

Colorado Springs police are investigating an attempted robbery.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at a business in the 1200 block of North Academy Boulevard.

Police say someone walked into the business to rob it but the employee locked herself in the back of the building. The person then ran away after not being able to take anything from the store.

Officers were not able to find the suspect.

Investigators say video footage was found from several nearby businesses which led them to a good description of the person.

The incident is still under investigation.
