Springs Police say driver who caused downtown crash was driving stolen car

A crash that closed Wahsatch Avenue downtown this morning was caused by a juvenile who was driving a stolen car, according to Colorado Springs Police.

The road was closed between Platte Avenue and Bijou Street until about 11 a.m.

The crash happened around 6:00 a.m.

Police say a juvenile was speeding southbound on Wahsatch in a stolen Camero and rear ended a Ford Explorer.

Both drivers were seriously injured.

Police say the juvenile may have been under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending.
