Pikes Peak Range Riders host Rodeo Day

Colorado Springs Cowboys and Cowgirls got a special treat at the Rodeo Hall of Fame on Saturday.

The Pikes Peak Range Riders and Therapeutic Riding Center hosted a Rodeo Day. Kid
contestants competed in poles, barrels, goat tie and flag horse races.

The event also featured horse used for therapy for special needs children.

Organizers say the benefit the horses provide is priceless.

“Building core strength, building confidence, learning how to speak for the first time on a horse. A lot of times their first words are “walk on”… not “mommy” or “daddy” but “walk on,” said Shannon M. and Nancy H. with Pikes Peak Therapeutic Riding Center.
