Colorado kid named marble king in New Jersey

An 11-year-old boy from Grand Junction is the new king of shooting marbles.

Louie Lee was named the winner of the 93 rd Annual National Marbles Championship in New Jersey this week.

He said he used to play video games then got into marbles and thought they were much more fun than sitting in front of a TV.

Louie also said he was inspired by his mom, who has been a marbles coach for more than 20 years.

“She taught me how to do back spin. She told me how to hold the marble right. And I think it’s cool cause she’s my mom,” said Louie Lee, marbles champion.

Louie said he and his mom practice at least three hours a day.
