3 minors arrested for burglarizing two COS businesses

Three teens who burglarized two Colorado Springs businesses within hours of each other early Friday morning have been arrested.

The first burglary took place just after 2 a.m. Sand Creek officers responded to a tripped alarm at a business located at 3285 S. Academy Boulevard. Surveillance video from that business showed three white males breaking through the business’s glass to get in. They then began stuffing their bags with merchandise.

A 4:50 a.m., police responded to another tripped alarm from a business at 296. S. Academy Boulevard. The facility had been burglarized the same way as the other Academy business.

A short time later, a Sand Creek officer on routine patrol saw three teens on bicycles carrying backpacks. They fit the description of the burglars, so the officer tried to pull them over. The teens attempted to run from the cop, but one was captured.

During questioning, police were able to get information on the other teens involved.

All were arrested and charged with multiple burglaries.
