Sexually violent predator registers as homeless in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Police Department says a sexually violent predator has registered as homeless in a west side neighborhood.

Daniel Murphy is registered as living in the area of Fillmore Street and Chestnut Street.

Murphy was convicted 1st degree sex abuse in Suffolk County, New York in 2000, according to police. They say he also has convictions for harassment, forcible touching, failure to register as a sex offender and violation of a protection order.

Murphy is one of 14 sexually violent predators living within Colorado Springs city limits.
