Bike to Work Day encouraging Pueblo residents to get active
In honor of Colorado’s Bike to Work Day, Pueblo residents were outside bright and early on Wednesday to ride into work and catch some breakfast on their way in.
Four stations were set up and ready to fuel riders with a health meal. One stand at the local Health Department said it had 45 people stop by to pick up food and free goodies.
Some riders told KRDO they were using the day as a chance to get their kids out of the house to discover the fun of being outdoors.
“We are out here just enjoying this morning and trying to teach a better lifestyle to the kids than just sitting in front of the TV for cartoons in the morning,” said Greg Gehlhoff.
Pueblo County Commissioner Sal Pace also participated in the day, stopping by the food stand at the Health Department on his way to the commissioners meeting.
