Cooperative Care Center in Pueblo giving community children hope

Pueblo community members were helping out kids at the Cooperative Care Center on 8 th Street Monday.

The center held a Kids Day to help inspire them and give them hope.

“We don’t know where they are coming from or what they are going through with their families. They’re experiencing hunger or whatever. But here we want them to leave with hope and joy,” said Mona Montoya, director of operations.

About 70 families attended the event.

A magician gave out balloon animals and the center provided food. The event also had book readings, where some of the kids got to take a book home.

The center has been doing this event for seven years. They will be holding other Kids Days in July and August.
