City Park bathhouse to be demolished
The old bathhouse in Pueblo’s City Park Pool will be torn down.
Pueblo’s City Council discussed the options of redoing the structure right now and opening it up, which would have cost the city more than $90,000.
To tear it down and remove it would be only $30,000.
The council decided because of the cost and liability of the space they will go in a different direction.
“The park’s intention is to get more shade in that area, whether we do it with tables and canopies for now and then putting some more permanent structure in down the road when we can afford it,” said Parks and Recreation Director Steven Meier.
On top of the cost of the demolition of the structure the parks department will need to pay for new shade structures.
