20-year-old Caon City woman dies in single-vehicle crash

A 20-year-old Caon City woman died after being in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday.

Makenna R. Parker was sitting in the passenger seat of a 1999 Ford F250 pickup when the vehicle lost control and rolled over onto its roof.

The 22-year-old driver was traveling eastbound on Colorado Highway 50 when the crash happened near milepost 293. The vehicle traveled through the center median and onto the westbound side of the highway, causing a blockage on both lanes.

Both the driver and Parker were ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. Neither were wearing a seat belt.

Parker was pronounced dead at a hospital in Pueblo.

Investigators do not believe alcohol or speeding contributed in the crash.
