Man arrested after deadly crash

One person is facing charges in a deadly crash in Colorado Springs.

It happened just before 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 2500 block of North Chelton Road.

Investigators say the driver of a Subaru Impreza was speeding on the southbound side of the road. He then lost control and hit a tree on the side of the road before the vehicle spun out.

A passenger sitting in the rear of the vehicle was ejected, and was declared dead at the scene.

Another passenger was taken to the hospital.

The driver, later identified as 45-year-old Christopher Rosebloom, ran from the scene and was arrested at his home several hours after the crash.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Rosebloom is facing charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, DUI and hit-and-run.

The area around the crash was closed for several hours during the investigation, and was reopened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
