Dog dies in Cimarron Hills Apartment Fire

A two alarm apartment fire that was burning near Peterson Air Force Base is now under control.

The Cimarron Hills Fire Department called a second alarm on the fire Thursday morning.

The fire burned at the Space Village Apartments in the 6800 block of Space Village Avenue, near Highway 24 and Peterson Boulevard.

The fire department says a dog died in the fire and several people were displaced.

The fire was contained to one unit.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
