Pueblo officials making steps towards demolishing condemned homes
Three condemned Pueblo homes are one step closer to being demolished.
These homes have sat vacant, boarded up, and with overgrown weeds in the yards for years.
City Council has wanted to demolish the homes but lacked the budget because of the recession.
Now, the city is looking into what it will cost to demolish them.
“We’ve already done the kind of environmental assessment on it, and roughly for the three houses somewhere in the neighborhood of $40,000 for the environmental management and remediation,” said Steve Narowcki with the Pueblo City Council President.
The city is still assessing how much it will cost to demolish each house.
