Hundreds honor life of motorcyclist who died in accident

People packed the auditorium at Pueblo West High School to pay their final respects to a motorcyclist.

Jordan Munoz, 25, was involved in a motorcycle accident Friday night and died the next morning at a hospital.

The auditorium was full of people with many emotions toward Munoz.

“He was kind. He was sweet. He was loving,” Munoz’s mother, Jennifer Priest, said.

She said her son meant everything to her and when he died, she felt like a piece of her was lost.

“He was the breathe. He was the beat of my heart. He was my every thought. He was everything that was good about me,” Priest said.

A memorial still stands near where the accident happened.

Police are still searching for a cause to the accident.

Sgt. Howard Jackson said a witness saw a vehicle cutoff Munoz near the 6th Street exit on I-25, but investigators aren’t rushing to conclusions.

“We have to look through all the evidence. The evidence on the roadway is somewhat contradictory to what the witness statement was, but we just can’t discount the witness statement either. We are still investigating and trying to find the root cause of the accident,” he said.

People released balloons to remember Munoz, and now that Priest and others have celebrated Munoz’s life, the next step is to find closure.

Police are still looking for anymore witnesses to this accident. If anyone knows anything, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP.

Officers said Munoz was not wearing a helmet during the accident. He also wasn’t licensed to operate a motorcycle.
